Long descriptionThe immunocytochemical detection of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) incorpoRated into DNA is a powerful tool to study the cytokinetics of normal and neoplastic cells. In vitro or in vivo labeling of tumor cells with the thymidine analogue BrdU and the subsequent detection of incorpoRated BrdU with specific anti-BrdU monoclonal antibodies is an accuRate and comprehensive method to quantitate the degree of DNA-synthesis. BrdU is incorpoRated into the newly synthezised DNA of the S-phase cells and can thus provide an estimate for the fraction of cells in S-phase. Also dynamic prolifeRative information (such as the S-phase transit Rate and the potential doubling time) can be obtained, by means of bivariate BrdU/DNA flow cytometric analysis.
Antibody come fromIIB5 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of SP2/0-Ag14 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c Mouse intraperitoneally immunized with BrdU conjugated to Bovine Serum albumin.
Other descriptionEach vial contains 100 ul 1 mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0.09% sodium azide.

Antibody's reacts with these speciesThis antibody doesn't cross react with other species
Antibody's specificityIIB5 reacts with bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) also when incorporated into nuclear DNA.The antibody is known to cross-react with Iododeoxyuridine (IdU). Although we have no specific information concerning chlorodeoxyuridine (CldU), it is to be expected that also this antigen is recognized by IIB5.
Research interestCancer,Cell cycle,Immunology,Neurobiology,Stem cell research
ApplicationFlow Cytometry,Immunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),Immunohistochemistry (paraffin)
Antibody's suited forIIB5 is suitable for flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin-embedded tissues. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration; recommended range is 1:100 – 1:200 for flow cytometry, and for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent.
StorageStore at 4°C, or in small aliquots at -20°C.

WarningsThis product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
