CategoryPrimary Antibodies
Long descriptionThe extent of expression of the basement membrane component type IV collagen may be correlated with the degree of differentiation of basement membrane producing neoplasma. Neoplastic cells of invasive carcinomas often lack a continuous basement membrane. In diagnostic histopathology antibodies to type IV collagen may help to distinguish between non-invasive (benign or in situ) and invasive lesions. Furthermore the antiSerum is important in the differential diagnosis of bullous lesions in dermatopathology.
Antibody come from1043 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of Sp 2/0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BABL/c Mouse immunized with purified Human type IV collagen. The immunogen has been isolated from Human placenta.
Other descriptionEach vial contains 1ml of culture supernatant of monoclonal antibody containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Antigen-antibody binding interactionMouse anti Collagen Type IV Antibody
Antibody is raised inMouse
Antibody's reacts withBovine,Human,Swine
Antibody's reacts with these speciesDoes not react with rat, rabbit
Antibody's specificity1043 recognizes type IV collagen in the extracellular - basement membranes of normal and pathological tissues
Research interestCancer, Stem cell research
ApplicationFlow Cytometry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),Immunohistochemistry (paraffin),Western blotting
Antibody's suited for1043 is useful for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry on fixed cells (methanol fixation) and immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues when using a PBS buffer containing 0.1 mM CaCl2 and 0.1 mM MgCl2 . For immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections the sections should be pretreated with 1 mg/ml pepsin in 0.01 N HCl for 30 minutes at room temperature. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration.
StorageStore at 4°C, or in small aliquots at -20°C.

WarningsThis product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
GeneCollagen Types in bones and muscles can be hydrolyzed and used in human grafts. ( Type II )
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
