Long descriptionIntegrins are a family of heterodimeric membrane glycoproteins consisting of non-covalently associated α and β subunits. More than 18 α and 8 β subunits with numerous splice variant isoforms have been identified in mammals. In general, integrins function as receptors for extracellular matrix proteins. Certain integrins can also bind to soluble ligands or to counter-receptors on adjacent cells, such as the intracellular adhesion molecules (ICAMs), resulting in aggregation of cells. Signals transduced by integrins play a role in many biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, migRation and apoptosis. For integrin subunits α3 and α6, two cytoplasmic variants, A and B, have been identified.
Antibody come from6B4 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1, κ antibody derived by fusion of SP2/0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c Mouse immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a 34 amino acid stretch in the cytoplasmic domain of integrin α6B including an appending N-terminal cysteine: CSRYDDSVPRYHAVRIRKEEREIKDEKYIDNLEKK coupled to keyhole limpet hemocyanin.
Other descriptionEach vial contains 1ml of culture supernatant of monoclonal antibody containing 0.09% sodium azide.

Antibody's reacts withHuman
Antibody's reacts with these speciesA broad species reactivity is expected because of the conserved nature of the epitope.
Antibody's specificity6B4 recognizes specifically the cytoplasmic domain of integrin subunit α6B. 6B4 stains the basement membrane zone of ducts and acini of salivary gland, kidney tubules, epithelium of colonic crypts and weakly stains sweat glands and sebaceous glands.

ApplicationImmunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),Western blotting
Antibody's suited for6B4 is suitable for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration; recommended range is 1:2 – 1:10 for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:5 – 1:50 for immunoblotting applications.
StorageStore at 4°C, or in small aliquots at -20°C.

WarningsThis product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
DescriptionThe Mouse anti Integrin alpha 6B is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood. This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
