More details

CategoryPrimary Antibodies
Long descriptionVimentin (57 kDa) is the intermediate filament protein (IFP) of mesenchymal cells. This IFP, often deviates from the tissue-specific and developmentally regulated pattern of expression. Besides its typical expression in most cultured cells, vimentin is also expressed together with several other IFPs during early stages of development. As differentiation proceeds, vimentin is exchanged for the tissue-specific intermediate filament type.
Antibody come fromV9 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of PAI Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c Mouse immunized with vimentin isolated from porcine lens.
Other descriptionEach vial contains 1ml of culture supernatant of monoclonal antibody containing 0.09% sodium azide.

Antigen-antibody binding interactionMouse anti Vimentin Antibody
Antibody is raised inMouse
Antibody's reacts withChicken,Human,Rat,Sheep
Antibody's reacts with these speciesAlso reacts with potoroo
Antibody's specificityV9 reacts exclusively with vimentin, which is expressed in mesenchymal cells and mesenchymal derived tumors e.g. lymphoma, sarcoma and melanoma.
Research interestCancer,Cytoskeleton,Immunology,Neurobiology,Stem cell research
ApplicationFlow Cytometry,Immunocytochemistry,Immunohistochemistry (frozen),Immunohistochemistry (paraffin),Western blotting
Antibody's suited forV9 is suitable for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin-embedded tissues and flow cytometry. For staining paraffin-embedded tissues pretreatment by boiling tissue sections for 10 minutues in 10 mM citRate buffer (pH 6.0) is required. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration; recommended range is 1:2 – 1:10 for flow cytometry, and for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:5 – 1:100 for immunoblotting applications.
StorageStore at 4°C, or in small aliquots at -20°C.

WarningsThis product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
TestMouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
